About the Author
P. VENKATESH, PhD, SMIEEE, is Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Thiagarajar College of Engineering, Madurai. He did his post-doctoral research work at The Pennsylvania State University, USA, under the BOYSCAST Fellowship award received by him in the year 2006 from the Department of Science and Technology (DST). He has been the recipient of a grant in the year 2005 from AICTE for a two-year project Design and Development of DSP based FACTS Controller , a grant from DST in the year 2009 for a three-year project Development and Implementation of Intelligent Controllers for Power Industry , and another grant in the year 2009 from UGC for a two-year project, A New Transmission Pricing Methodology for the Indian Restructuring Electricity Market . Dr. Venkatesh has published/presented many papers in international and national journals and conferences. He has 16 years experience of teaching both postgraduate and undergraduate student
B. V. MANIKANDAN, PhD, MIEEE, is Professor in the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Mepco Schlenk Engineering College, Sivakasi. His main area of interest is Power System Restructuring and application of FACTS devices to power systems. He has been the recipient of project grants from DRDO, Hyderabad and Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research (IGCAR).
Dr. Manikandan has several years experience of teaching undergraduate students and postgraduate courses. He has to his credit nearly 25 papers presented in national conferences and 18 papers presented/published in international journals and conferences.
S. CHARLES RAJA, MIEEE, is Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Thiagarajar College of Engineering, Madurai. His areas of interest include Power System Analysis, Power System Security, Power System Optimization and Power System Deregulation. He is the co-investigator for a Major Research Project grant in the year 2009 from UGC. He has published/presented five papers in international journals and conferences.
A. SRINIVASAN is former Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, K.L.N. College of Engineering, Pottapalayam. He is currently pursuing his PhD research work in Thiagarajar College of Engineering, Madurai. His main area of interest is Power System Restructuring. He has more than 14 years experience of teaching both postgraduate and undergraduate students.

No diagrams, limited usefulness

Venkatesh is known for writing some fine Electrical Engineering textbooks, and I'm sure the printed edition of this title is great. The E-book however is not. None of the diagrams are been included. Whole sections of the book refer to pictures that are not present and annotated diagrams that are missing. As a result this book is very difficult to learn from or follow.
Don't buy this Kindle Edition.
