About the Author
Ismaiel Aldean is an Iraqi native who qualified from Baghdad Medical School before completing his Surgical training in the United Kingdom. There he met his Irish wife Mary and the two returned to Iraq to start their lives together, living there for 12 years. During those years, Aldean built his own hospital and was directly involved in the vicious eight-year Iraq-Iran war as a leading surgeon on the front line, where he dealt with some of the most horrific medical cases and witnessed the human tragedy of war. Due to his position in society, he interacted with top political leaders, including Saddam Hussein. These encounters gave him a rare insight into the unknown side of Saddam’s personality and the positive impression he left on the dictator was eventually the reason he made it out alive. Aldean stated that, after receiving a tip from a member of the government in 1990, he and his family left Iraq unaware of why they were being advised to leave. It was not until they landed in the U.K. that the invasion of Kuwait was announced in the media and the realization that they would never return struck home. Aldean spent the following years rebuilding a life for his family and worked at Trafford General Hospital, Manchester, for 13 years before retiring in 2010. Aldean was appointed as colorectal surgeon in 1997, served as divisional director of surgery for nine years and was awarded seven Clinical Excellence Awards for his work. During his time in Manchester, he was also appointed tutor and examiner at Manchester Medical School and examiner for the Royal College of Surgeons in Scotland.

A remarkable story offering a fascinating insight not only into Ismaiel's family life but also into that of the Iraqi people under the eventual ruthless dictatorship of Saddam Hussein. The reality of war, highlighted through case history examples, depicts not only the expertise of the medical staff under extreme conditions but also the resilience and courage of the injured. This story of passion and concern for family, friends and patients, from the days of privilege through to the days during which fear permeated under Hussein's stronghold on the Iraqi people, must have presented the author with heart-wrenching moments of recall when writing this well documented narrative.

Being of Iranian origin and a surgical trainee I was naturally very interested and drawn to this book and I have to say that it was an absolutely incredible read!
The book tells the accounts of one mans experiences of war time Iraq whilst working as a general surgeon. Once I'd picked it up, I couldnt put it down. A truely compelling read that gives incredible insight into the struggles of man during war time. The accounts are told beautifully and succinctly and take the reader on an emotional journey whilst exposing him/her to the true horrors of war and the nature of man, both good and evil. Thoroughly recommend this!

The book gives an intimate insight into Iraq and the character of Saddam Hussein that brings a new dimension to understanding the events and history of that country since Saddam Hussein came to power.

It is also an easy and very enjoyable read. I was sorry when it came to an end!

Insights to help you plan your itinerary

This was my go-to book to compare towns with similar highlights. Ditto for whittling down which attractions to visit in each city- there isn’t time to see everything.

The travel time on trains from places where you are staying, frequency of trains, and cost helped me assemble a schedule of which towns to visit each day. Munich needed 2 full days. We visited the Residenz one day and Nymphenburg the next. This enabled us to pass by all the other sites that we wanted to explore. The restaurant list provides affordable meals with many choices of food.

This book enticed me to go to many off-the-beaten path small towns. Some trumped the common tourist towns. Further research on the internet filled in details that Lonely Planet did not include. That was how I choose our pensions located for day trips.

Towns that we visited and would recommend that are covered in this publication are: Bamberg, Berchtesgaden, Coburg, Landshut, Munich, Nuremberg, Passau, Regensburg, Rothenburg, Salzburg, Schwabisch Hall, Ulm, and Wurzburg.

Good introduction or brush up to jazz piano players

Very good book covering jazz piano. A lot of people always reference the jazz piano book by Mark Levine but what if that is a little bit above your level of understanding or you don't quite get it. This book I might say is a very good primer I am only in chapter 3 as I am taking my time to digest the information but it is laid out in a very logical manner and progression but there is enough here to keep you pretty busy for a while. There also in chapter 1 is a list of beginner jazz tunes that the author suggests for study I read music but am making an assumption that you should be able to read music in bass and treble clef, chord symbols, or play by ear to get the most out of this book but so far I like it.

About the Author
Honored as a "Master Pioneer" and "trailblazer of the natural hair care industry" with over 25 years of experience, Ms. Bailey has positioned herself as an innovator and standard bearer for natural hair care. She has influenced the creation of new textured hair fibers, hair styling techniques, developed semantics, systems, and procedures that have been groundbreaking throughout the industry. Ms Bailey has previously authored three books, Natural Hair Care and Braiding, Braiding-Easy Styles for Everyone, and Natural Hair Care- Easy Styles for Everyone. Ms. Bailey contributed to the book Milady's Standard, a Textbook of Cosmetology. These books are sold worldwide and are instructional texts for professional trade schools and reference guides for the consumer. Ms. Bailey is currently a natural beauty consultant for Design Essentials Natural by McBride Research Laboratories and Shea Moisture by Sundial Inc.; she has developed workshops that feature the product line and demonstrate natural hair, locks, protective and transitional styling techniques. As an Adjunct Professor, Ms. Bailey taught and wrote the curriculum for "Fundamentals of Braiding" at Medgar Evers College for the adult education program, in the City University of New York. This book is a "Must have" for every cosmetology/Natural Hair stylist student

I recently completed a Natural Hair styling course at an accredited Cosmetology school that did not focus much on Natural Hair Care/Styling nor, how to care for natural hair textures from straight to tightly curled.

I highly recommend the Milady Standard Natural Hair Care & Braiding book by Diane C. Bailey. This book is very informative and teaches you step-by-step styling for today's versatile styles and textures from the board room -to-a night out on the town.

This book also contains vital information that was left out from the Milady Cosmetology book that my school used as it's textbook. Such as the different types of shampoos and conditioners that are recommended for different natural hair textures, and different styling tools that are recommended for natural hair. And most important how to properly braid without putting tension onto the hair follicle.

I highly recommend this book to everyone who is interested in pursuing a career as a cosmetologist or Natural hair stylist. Also to anyone who has children (with natural hair).

Is It worth it?(Hair Care Review)

This is perhaps the best natural hair care book that I have come across. I enjoyed it because it does not read like a wordy textbook, the information is understandable and usable. If you are trying the style in the book for the first time, it will take a couple of times before you can do them neatly.
Practice.:)

I especially liked the section on shampoos,conditioners herbal treatment and rinses. You can make a bunch of combinations of things to use in your hair as opposed to buying already made ones. Buying ingredients and mixing them has always been cheaper to me, in the long run than ordering hair balms,pomades etc.

My biggest complaint is they did not go into hair trimming for naturals. How to identify damaged ends, removing those ends etc.When growing hair out this seems to be one of the biggest problems. I have not come across a lot of definite answers on this either and think it would have enhanced this book so much more. Along with the protective hair styling's is how to keep hair moisturized and healthy when you are wearing braids with faux hair ,crotchet weaves etc.Sometimes these style are worn for months at a time, and when taken out the hair is dry and hasn't been properly moisturized the whole time-which leads to breakage.

This book is excellent. They really did a great job of not only presenting the facts but also gave great visuals and real life scenarios. I think everyone who plans on doing ethnic hair after cosmetology school should invest in this book.

About the Author
Steven L. McShane is Winthrop Professor of Management at the University of Western Australia (UWA) Business School, where he receives high teaching ratings from students in Perth, Singapore, Manila, and other cities where UWA offers its programs. He previously taught in the business faculties at Simon Fraser University and Queen’s University in Canada. Steve has conducted executive programs with Nokia, T�V-S�D, Wesfarmers Group, Main Roads WA, McGraw-Hill, ALCOA World Alumina Australia, and many other organizations. He is also a popular visiting speaker, having given numerous invited presentations over the past four years to faculty and students in the United States, China, India, Canada, the Philippines, Malaysia, and other countries.

Steve earned his Ph.D. from Michigan State University in organizational behavior, human resource management, and labor relations. He also holds a Master of Industrial Relations from the University of Toronto, and an undergraduate degree from Queen’s University in Canada. Steve is a past President of the Administrative Sciences Association of Canada (the Canadian equivalent of the Academy of Management) and Director of Graduate Programs in the business faculty at Simon Fraser University.

Along with coauthoring Organizational Behavior, Sixth Edition, Steve is coauthor of M: Organizational Behavior (2012) with Mary Ann Von Glinow; Organisational Behaviour on the Pacific Rim, Third Edition (2010) with Mara Olekahns (University of Melbourne) and Tony Travaglione (Curtin University); and Canadian Organizational Behaviour, Eighth Edition (2013) with Sandra Steen (University of Regina). Great Book for OB as well as HR

I bought this for a basic org behavior class that I had last year. The class wasn't that great, but the book is really well written. It's extremely thorough despite the wide range of information that it covers. I just took a basic HR class and when studying for the exams, I actually pulled this one out and looked up concepts that the HR book just glazed over. This was one of the most expensive books I've ever purchased (back then it was $170), but it's also the only one I have consistently used once the class was over. Definitely a keeper.

Easy to understand

I liked this textbook because it was easy to understand. There were alot of good examples and the language was very straight forward, it wasn't filled with technical terms (unless they were defined). I think that it was overpriced, especially for the Kindle version. I bought the hardback so that I could recoup some of my costs at the end of the semester but I would have preferred a cheaper Kindle version to begin with.

This is an easy to read book for introductory Organizational Behavior students. It clearly outlines objectives for each chapter and has key terms bolded and defined in the margins. At the end of every chapter there are practice questions to help students take away the necessary information and focus on what is most important. If you're on the fence about buying it for your class or not, I recommend buying it because it's got some great info in there that you may find useful beyond the classroom.

Uh, is this a real book?

Alright, this book is not really what I was expecting. I guess i was expecting real information? A well written book? Something worth $20? Here are few things you should know if you're thinking about purchasing it:

- It's about 100 pages with enormous sized doubled-spaced font. It's practically a pamphlet.
- Taylor doesn't seem to know the different between "your" (possessive) and "you're" (you are).
- The guy can't write. At all. I'm guessing he hasn't yet completed the eighth grade. Obviously this book wasn't edited.
- He mentions several times what the book is about in the first few pages, "all about using social media", "all about building the groundwork for a successful wedding photography business", and "how I skipped the second shooter/assistance role". So...which one is it really "all about"?
- Its completely unorganized.
- All of the info in this book can be found online.
- Oh you want to know what info this book has? Stuff like: have a blog, Facebook, & Twitter, back up your photos, and "you'll have to work on Saturdays".
- I'm pretty sure all the reviews of this book were written by the author and/or his friends. There's no way possible a real customer gave this book 5 stars, let alone six customers.

The book is a joke and complete waste of money. I should have just vomited on a twenty dollar bill instead of buying it.

The Best Wedding Photog workshop in one small book

Ok so I am fairly new to the wedding photography industry. I try to second shoot every now and then. I still have some of the fears of "what if i miss this shot" or things of that nature. After reading Taylor's book, i no longer have these. He pretty much gave me the confidence and tips i needed in about 110 pages. It is clear that he poured much time and thought into this book as he goes into detail on all of the main issues wedding photos encounter on a daily basis. I have already recommended this book to several of my friends and I will continue to recommend it to all the wedding photos i know: old & new. Thanks for all the helpful hints and tricks Taylor! The book is great!

Worth it

The info in the book is straight forward. What the author did.
Taylor explains his start in the business with suggestion for the reader to follow.
The main stay however is you got to do the leg work.
No rocket science in his methods, but they are laid out straight to the point.
Will this book make you a success? No
Will the methods work? Yes, but its gonna involve you doin some hard work

Not a master piece of literature, but a decent read and Taylor is a friendly helpful guy as well.

Spectacular Read!

Jackie Ivie just keeps getting better. You would expect a long running series to get boring but Jackie is full of surprises. She develops her characters, puts real research into where they came from, what they would wear, and how they would talk. I loved meeting the man behind Ethelstone's rough exterior, and Stephanie is a wonderful strong female lead. I loved this book, read it in one sitting, and was sad to see it end. I can't wait for the next one.

I am simply in love!!!!!!

Ok so why give this five stars it's because this woman is the best at what she does. I feel so sorry for the other twin (that's right not giving it away) you have to read the book to find out. But I will say that it broke my heart a little to see the emotion. My hero and herione was excellent for each other as always and to know that you are loved by someone so completely is magical in itself. So come on and get this book and see why Jackie has my undivided attention whenever she comes out to play. I love it Jackie Ivie another hit in my book!!!!!

Surprise-Surprise

This can be read as a stand-alone, but much more enjoyable when read in order. After having read each and every one of the books in the series, I am thrilled that the author can still take me by surprise. This story had humor, action, vampires, and steamy romance. The hero has depths we have not seen before during his appearances in other books. A reporter, the heroine gets way more involved in her story than she ever planned. If you enjoy humorous vampire romance, I recommend this story and the series as a whole.
