Appeared promising

Strangely, of the numerous textbooks on control systems I own, just one of them sticks out. I've got many of the major ones, in particular Kuo 9e, Ogata 5e, Franklin 5e, Dorf/Bishop, and Nise 5e. Franklin is worst -- rambling, unstructured, Ogata is almost as bad -- poor English, loose, unmotivated advice with a handbook feel to it, and Kuo ranks between so-so and decent -- I suspect it was better organized in the older revisons. Dorf I've not used as much (my feeling is it's partly all right). On the other hand, Nise: Of the 60 or so textbooks on electrical and mechanincal engineering I have, Nise is top three and probably at the very top. Its language and stuctured organization is superb. Ogata as well as the others mentioned have an excellent command of their material, but their presentations are inadequate. I just wanted to let you know that there is an exception that serves up in both departments.

This book is HORRIBLE!

I remember studying control Engineering in 2007, and all the nights of rage I had with this useless book.

Poorly explained, I can see we have here a PhD in anti didactism writing a book. At the time, I remember having the feeling that this subject shold be quite easy, but that in the hands of this author it was becoming a very big pile of terrorism to learn this topic.

I looked for some book at the time which could be more didactic, and found it eventualy. I cant remember the name of the book, but it was so much more clear!

Just stay away from this Ogata book!

This is my favorite controls book. It might not be the best but it is very good. My dynamic systems and vibrations book was horrible and this book covered that whole book better. Shows good examples too and has lots of them, almost like a solution manual. The book also shows you matlab code in examples which is nice so you dont have to spend hours trying to figure out exactly how the codes work. Very good book.

The calling of the Lord Jesus Christ is effectual; all who are chosen for salvation will believe in Jesus. John 6:37-44. The anti-gospel has a false Jesus, who only offers the possibility of salvation, with no assurance. The anti-gospel blasphemously makes God out to be a liar by denying the total depravity of man and the sovereign election of God. All who preach that false gospel are under a curse from God. Galatians 1:6-9.

Excellent book!

This is an excellent book and is one of the best books I have read in recent years. The author is both historically and Biblically accurate which in turn means it will not be comfortable for most based upon those two things alone. This book is very informative regarding the identification of the Arminian version of the Gospel as opposed to the Gospel as the Bible reveals it. For anyone who genuinely desires to understand how we got to where we are in the modern professing church they should read this book. I thank God for men like the author Edward Hendrie who are not afraid to stand for the Truth in the face of such colossal opposition. Even though the majority of the professing church today embraces the Arminian view of the Gospel anyone who is intellectually honest and sincerely desires to understand the Gospel as taught by Jesus Christ should read this book. He who has ears to hear let him hear!

The Anti-Gospel

Years ago when I heard that R.C. Sproul was going to be in town, I went to hear him mainly because I heard that he was a Calvinist. But Sproul made the remark that Jesus does not drag anyone kicking and screaming into the Kingdom of God. I thought that an odd statement for a professed Calvinist and contrary to my own conversion experience and that of C.S. Lewis. We both testify to having been brought into the Kingdom in just that manner. In fact, both of us appear to have been both unwilling and unlikely candidates for Sainthood. Since the great Calvinist R.C. Sproul appeared to not be Calvinist at all, as a joke, I started calling myself the "lastlivingcalvinist" and have written internet posts under that name for several years.

Today I am going to have to turn that title over the Hendrie. :-) I imagine Hendrie will not accept that title even as a joke since he says it is wrong to call ourselves either Calvinist or Reformed since what we are is Christian. It's
been a while since I completed a book this long but I had a hard time putting this book down. I could barely wait to pick it up to read each day.

There were some areas where I had difficulty following Hendrie's reasoning but, in the end, I can say that I have changed some of my beliefs and am still struggling with others. Even as a Calvinist I have been reluctant to believe in limited atonement, rationalizing that God would die for everyone and in so doing the unredeemed would have to accept responsibility for not accepting Christ. It's obvious that one of the things we struggle with is how we can be unable to go against our old nature and yet be held responsible and the desire to rationalize that which we don't understand is always with us. And, yes, I know that question was asked of the Apostle Paul and his answer seems to have been, "How can you question God?" God can do as he pleases with the same lump of clay.

Another concept I struggle with is accepting that God does not love every individual in the world even though my understanding has always been that He loves the world in general but the elect in particular. I've taken note that Jesus viewed some people as "sons of your father, the Devil" and that it clearly states, "I never knew you" so He does not have that love relationship with the unsaved that He has with the elect. As much as that saddens me He also stated "Jacob have I loved but Esau have I hated."

One of the features I liked about this book was the history of the traditions of the Jews and the Catholics. I had not heard most of it and am just amazed that Christians would attempt to find an alliance with those two groups.

I'm very appreciative to Hendrie for what must have taken hours of study and for his courage to present his book in the age that we live in.

For all who believe in the word of God and the Doctrines of Grace, I highly recommend this Book, I thought it was great and completely backed up by Scripture. Could hardly put it down.
