Great articles, but bad layout

This book is an excellent compendium of readings on participation and development, but suffers from lack of clarity. Other readers I own all craft introductions for each article containing: the original citation for the article, info about the author, and why the reading is important. This reader simply launches into each article with a short, difficult-to-find citation for the original piece at the end of the article. Perhaps not so important for the researcher familiar with these texts, but it certainly affects its effectiveness as a course textbook. Because of this, I give it three stars.
